Trip Update 01-Mar-2022

We want to keep everyone updated as the planning progresses. The response quite honestly has been greater than we anticipated. We are thrilled at this response but also want to ensure everyone has a good time and things go as smoothly as possible. So a couple of notes and updates:

  • Hotels – Everyone is responsible for booking their own rooms! We don’t want anyone to arrive at the first stop and not have a place to stay. So if everyone would let us know you did get your rooms booked, that would be great!
  • Food – We are doing our best to make arrangements at the restaurants we will stop at to reserve enough space for everyone. If, however, something goes sideways, we don’t want anyone to be caught off guard. Every restaurant we’ve selected is in a built-up area with lots of other choices nearby. If it becomes necessary, we’ll call an audible and everyone can scatter and find their own food.
  • Travel – Everyone will have a detailed map and GPS points (addresses). While you should be able to follow us without issue, if you get separated be sure you can navigate to the next checkpoint. Since we will have too many cars to physically be in one train the whole way, we’ll probably end up in smaller groups of cars. So at least one car in each group will need to know where they are going. :)
  • Communication – We will be setting up a text message service to announce info as we travel (delays, route updates, etc.) We will likely be doing a test of this system in a month or so. You will also have our shop number, which you can call if you have any issues or need help.
  • Have fun! – We’re doing our best to make this trip seamless and relaxing! But if/when something doesn’t go as planned, please enjoy the adventure with us! We hope this will become an annual event and that it will get better and better each year!

Thanks! And stay tuned!

Sounds like fun! Even though we have been to these places before, it is always fun, especially with other Miatas!
