The OEM Miata proportioning valve was designed for, well, the OEM car! It's function is to limit the amount of brake pressure the rear brakes can see, so that they don't lock up during emergency braking situations.
However, this design limits the overall braking potential of the car - especially if the car has stiffer springs, wider tires, and overall improved grip from stock. Enter the Wilwood proportioning valve! This valve allows you to adjust where the cut-off is for rear brake pressure, allowing from the OEM level, all the way up to 100% brake pressure to the rears (matching what the front brakes are doing).
This kit includes everything you need, including the mounting bracket and hardware. We designed this system with functionality in mind, keeping the adjustment knob away from the hot exhaust, and easy to access.
NOTE: This kit does NOT work with cars with ABS, or NB2's (2001-2005). However we plan on having kits for these in the future.
